A C19th, low bow or hoop back, elm and ash Windsor armchair. Featuring a low bent bow back, double pierced splat, bent arm rail, with double row of turned spindles, ring turned front arm supports. Over well figured solid elm saddled seat, raised on ring turned splayed legs, supported by a turned H-stretcher.
A charming country Windsor armchair, in good original condition. Twice painted, now attractively worn through and wax polished, presenting a delightful colour and patina. Clean and waxed, ready for use.

This chair measures approximately 90.5 cm (35.5'') tall, 58.25 cm (23'') wide, and 57.5 cm (22.75'') deep. The seat height is approximately 41 cm (16''). Seat width (between the front supports) 38.5 cm (15.25''), and seat depth (to the bottom of the splat) 36 cm (14.25'').

...n one spindle in the top row which is a little short of top mortice . Some marks and blemishes, mainly to the finish. One small partial age related split to the left side of the seat. Little historic extinct worm holes, which do not affect the structure or sturdiness of the chair, and have been fully treated by way of precaution. Twice painted, both of which have been worn through and waxed. Very good colour, polish and patina. Very serviceable and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
