This is a lovely Edwardian, silver inkwell, with original glass well, made by Mappin and Webb, London, and assayed in 1907. Of capstan design, with ribbon motifs and reeding to both outside edges, this piece also has excellent, faux tortoiseshell, pique decoration to the lid, The hinge is strong and in perfect working order. This is in excellent antique condition, with no damage, repairs or losses to either the silver or glass; the bottom edge bears the Mappin and Webb stamp. The hallmarks are a little rubbed, but legible. Please note that the photographs contain reflections.
