The case is quite outstanding, made of quarter sawn oak which has matured over the decades into a wonderful colour and has carved floral motifs around the clock face and to the top, it is in superb condition.

The original front glass door is set in a polished brass frame and is in perfect condition, this is complimented by the brass spandrels at each corner and the brass mask in the centre. it has a solid brass handle and stands on solid brass bracket feet.

The clock is a quarter chiming ting tang clock which chimes once on twin gongs at quarter past the hour, it chimes twice on twin gongs at half past the hour and chimes 3 times at quarter to the hour. It strikes the full hour on a single gong. The gongs are very mellow and resonate beautifully for a very long time ,it sounds divine. It comes with its original key.

Lenzkirch is considered to be one of the best German clock makers of their time and their clock movements are the Rolls Royce of movements. As you can see from the pictures the quality of engineering is top drawer.

This clock is fully stamped with the Lenzkirch mark on the movement and is numbered.
This is without doubt one of the finest German clock movements you will ever see.
Genuine Lenzkirch clocks in this condition are extremely rare and do not often come on the open market.
The movement is in excellent clean and running condition having just undergone a complete and comprehensive overhaul by Alan Williams of Plymouth Clocks who is a fellow of the British Horological Institute so you can be assured that this clock will give trouble free service for many many years before requireing any further attention.
It is keeping accurate time to within 1 minute a week.
This clock has obviously been highly prized and looked after, the condition is a credit to its previous owners.
Overall this is a very fine and beautifully proportioned original German bracket clock by the very best maker.
The clock movement comes with a full 12 month warranty.
