Vintage 9ct Gold Zircon Drop Earrings

1940 - 1960
Description

Pretty Art Deco-style earrings with super-sparkly white stones mounted in crown settings and separated by nine-carat gold knife-edge bars. The gems are believed to be zircons (not to be confused with cubic zirconia) which mostly originate from Sri Lanka and have been appreciated for centuries for their diamond-like fiery brilliance.

• Condition: Excellent vintage condition.

• Stamps/hallmarks: Lovely crisp hallmarks on each bar for nine-carat gold, Chester, 1953.

• Fixing: Nine-carat gold butterflies.

• Size: 2.2cm long. The smaller zircons measure approximately 3.5mm and the larger ones 6mm.

• Weight: 1.5g.
