Antique English Hunting Scene Fuel Lighter C.1910

Description

A really fabulous find in such remarkable condition. These lighters were filled (in this case, in the tree) with a little fuel and the fuel soaked strike would have been struck on the strike on the side of the tree.

This one has a very English scene cast from spelter and hand painted featuring a Fox hunt scene with red coated huntsman jumping through the countryside with a Beagle by his side.

The base is made from glass, which are usually chipped, this one remains in undamaged condition.

A splendid piece in excellent condition, minor wear commensurate with age. The base measures 5 7/8" x 3 1/4" and stands 4 1/2" tall to top of strike in the top of the tree.
