Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
A mid-sized figure measures 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) from nose to tail and stands 4.75 inches (12 cm) tall. The detail in the casting is wonderful and it retains almost all of its original paintwork. It stands perfectly flat with no rocking. No stamp but almost certainly the work of Austrian born Franz Bergman.
