Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The pair of arms, sweeping forward to small balusters, topped by likewise gilt brass rising and scrolling leaf finials. The column finished with a baluster and cup socle, set within the octagonal base, with raised rounded and chamfered edges, finished with a bowed profile lower edge.
This could also happily be used as a stick stand.
Date circa 1830.
