Description

A very handsome pair of letter or postage scales, a wonderful piece of history for any desk-top. This one dates to around 1923 when the postage rates listed on the bone plaque were introduced.

The footed plinth has a serpentine front and is made from solid English Oak and the scale made from English brass, having been painstakingly dismantled, professionally polished and re-assembled. The scale is signed STS, I have had this maker before but the manufacturers name escapes me; they are also marked Warranted Accurate.

The scale comes complete with four solid brass weights from 1/4oz to 4oz.

Excellent condition, measuring 8" x 5 1/4" x 4 1/2" tall.
