A pair of late 19thc French wine goblets c1880. These glasses were originally made in France for pastis, the aniseed drink diluted with water but they now serve as a good pair of wine glasses. The are substantial, with a deep bowl with a wrythen (diagonal spiral) design, on a plain stem. There are good po til marks on the bases. They are a matched pair as each one was individually handmade.
