Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A traditional framed dinner gong is a domestic acoustic signalling device popularised during the nineteenth century in British country houses. It consists of a suspended metal disc held within a freestanding wooden or brass frame, used historically to summon household members for mealtimes.

Antique dinner gongs are commonly constructed using dense hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or teak for the framework. The central acoustic disc is generally crafted from cast or hammered brass or bronze, accompanied by a padded leather or felt striker.

Authentic period pieces feature period-correct joinery, natural timber grain variation, turned balusters, and hand-hammered or heavy cast brass discs. Signs of genuine age include soft patination on the timber, minor oxidisation on the metalwork, and wear to the striker head.

A floor-standing dinner gong functions as an architectural sculptural element when positioned in formal entry halls, stair landings, or dining space corners. It pairs effectively with traditional timber panelling, dark paint schemes, or eclectic gallery settings.

Clean the wooden framework using a soft, dry cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally along the timber grain. Keep brass elements dusting-free, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners that strip historical surface patina.
