Arrowsmith Antiques & Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The finely painted centre panel shows a male presenting a female with a cake in traditional Louis XVI attire .The clock is surmounted with a porcelain and gilt urn and is adorned with bronze gilt handles and acorn finial.

The decorative dial has Roman numerals and the movement is a French eight day which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.
The movement back plate is stamped with the makers name:-

The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
