Antique Geographia Terrestrial Globe

1900 - 1920
Description

A beautiful antique globe dating from the early 20th century. It stands on a turned ebonised base with a brass axis. The globe carries the stamp "Geographia 10 inch Terrestrial Globe. Steamer Route distances in sea miles. Heights in English Feet. British Possessions Red. Geographia 1923 ltd. 55 Fleet Str. London. EC.4"

It is in good condition for its age. The globe has been lightly cleaned to preserve its original aged patina and is ready for display. The turned ebonised stand is in good order and the globe spins freely on its axis. There is some minor wear to the surface of the globe - some light scuffs and small areas which have rubbed over the years and there is some discolouration and darkening. However there are no major damages and overall it has a lovely aged patina and displays well.

Height : 16" (41cm)

Base diameter : 6 1/2" (16cm)
