Edwardian Royal Worcester Owl Candle Snuffer C1911

1900 - 1920
Description

A late Edwardian or early George V era porcelain candle snuffer in the form of a hooded owl by the Royal Worcester factory. The puce Royal Worcester mark is inside the snuffer and the dot marks on it date the snuffer to 1911. The owls face is exquisitely handpainted with luminous yellow, blue and purple eyes, peeping out under his hood (reminiscent of nighttime) with its gilded tassel on top. The puce mark is clear and the condition is excellent. A very collectable and amusing item.
