Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.
This dish sits inside a caddy with a handle each side and a hinged lid which opens in the centre. The lid is adorned with decorative foliate engraving and the centre having a very regal armorial crest one side and intertwined initials the other.

The quality is exceptional only to be expected by the highly sought-after silversmith, Elkington & Co. with full marks on the underside with the date letter U for the year 1880. This piece is also blessed with the British design registration diamond which I have deciphered to have been registered on June 4th 1877.

A wonderful Victorian example in excellent condition. The caddy measures 7 3/8" handle to handle; 5" deep, foot to foot x 2 3/4" tall. The glass liner measures 5 1/4" x 3 1/2".
