m Lacemakers Stool - Iron Stretcher - c1800

This charming Country Stool is wonderfully presented and an excellent example. It is believed to originate from the Olney area of England.

The Elm seat displays beautifully and is dished perfectly. The seat rides upon a trio of simply turned legs which are united by a splendid tri-star iron stretcher.

The stretcher bars run through the legs and are then hand riveted over with an end cap - very industrial and a sign of the quality of the stool and the hard use it was expected to take on a daily basis.

An unusual piece of furniture, in superb condition, and a lovely collectors piece. A stool that will delight for many years to come.
