Edwardian 48.84 Carat Natural Grey Star Sapphire Pendant, Circa 1910

Description

The most amazing star sapphire pendant. The rare, oversized sapphire – certified as natural and unheated – is a lightish blueish grey and displays slight asterism. The stone is secured in a very pretty platinum setting with wired scroll detailing in the gallery, and hangs from a ‘V’ shaped bale pavé set with seventeen eight-cut diamonds. A impressive and highly individual piece.

Please choose a 16? or 18? platinum chain (this is included in the price).

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire is natural and unheated.

Cut – Oval cabochon sapphire and eight-cut diamonds.

Colour – The diamond are H to I.

Clarity – The diamonds are VS2 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye. There is an inclusion to the back of the sapphire (pictured) which is surface reaching that neither travels through the stone nor affects its stability.

Carat – The sapphire is 48.84 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.17 carat.

Circa – 1910.

Measurements – The sapphire is 22.08 x 19.37mm.

Metal – Platinum. Tested.
