Harry Sutton Palmer R.I.,R.B.A.1854-1933.Landscape painter and watercolourist Born Plymouth.He studied at the Royal College of Art for two years,winning a gold medal for his work.He illustrated several travel books for A&C Black as well as post arts for A&C Black.Sutton Palmer specialised in idyllic rustic landscapes in watercolour.He lived in London but painted widely in England eg Surrey,Berkshire ,Devon,The Lake District, Yorkshire and Devon.
Sutton Palmer married Maude Moore in 1889 at San Jose,California.He resided in California for short periods and painted a series of California scenes.He exhibited extensively including 33 works at the R.A.,517 at The Fine Art Society,382 at the Dowdeswell Galleries,303 at the Leicester Galleries and many elsewhere . ‘ The River Tees near Barnard Castle, Durham’ signed watercolour,
