Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Each is beautifully decorated with an all-over Fern engraving, very English and very Victorian.

Each bears a crisp English hallmark for Sheffield 1891, Victorian in era. The makers mark is also present, RM over EH for the esteemed silversmith, Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall - Martin, Hall & Co.
The box is covered in black leather with a push button catch. The interior is lined in navy blue velvet and the lid in a powder blue silk. This silk is gold stamped with the Scottish retailer's signature, " Sanderson & Son, Jewellers & Lapidaries, 96, Princes Street, Edinburgh ".

They are a great size and great weight, a combined weight of 62 grams or 1.99 Troy Ounces. Each measures 1 3/4" in diameter & 1 3/8" thick.
