Art Nouveau Overlay Sterling Silver & Cranberry Glass Scent Bottle, Circa 1900

Description

This exquisite sterling silver scent bottle was made in the turn of the Century. The cranberry glass baluster body applied with solid silver lattice and sinuous designs. The lid and neck with silver overlay. This is a rather rare example. This type of scent bottles are usually in clear glass. The stopper with Lion Passant Hallmarks.

Hallmarks:

These type of scent bottles were very often unmarked, tests as silver.

Lid bears the Lion Passant hallmark for sterling silver.

Dimensions:

Height: 9cm / 3.5 inches

Diameter: 6cm / 2.2 inches.

Condition:

Good.

Glass body in perfect condition.

Glass rim with some age related wear but no chips.

No loss to the silver.
