Antique Victorian Diamond & 14ct Gold Star Cufflinks - C.1880

We are delighted to offer this incredibly stylish pair of Victorian 14ct gold cufflinks, made circa 1880.

The pair feature a wonderful antique gold tone colour that distinguishes itself from many contemporary/counterpart cufflinks. Furthermore, a wonderful acid-etched surface texture creates a 'frosted appearance' giving off a slightly subdued and elegant gold reflection.

The main face is engraved with a sharp hand-engraved starburst motif with one old-cut diamond in the centre. Despite what could be such a small and insignificant sartorial accoutrement, this pair embraces its modest size with its intricacy and understated style.

An excellent addition for a discerning individual and a highly practical piece of antique jewellery that can be easily worn today. The gold is unmarked as is common with many articles of this period. As such, we have tested it for 14ct gold.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with no major issues/damage. For accuracy, there is one slight area on the back end of the links where some surface scratches are present (as shown in the last photo). This is hardly noticeable to the human eye and cannot be seen upon wearing. The frosting remains mint and absolutely delightful.
