Andrew Cox Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The silver lid is decorated with panels of acanthus leaves and has a vacant cartouche to the top. A cork seal is found to the inside of the lid and the lid screws down on a silver thread. A usable, collectable and decorative piece. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no splits or dents to the silver and no cracks to the glass. There are a couple of very small flea bites to the glass cutting, commensurate with age and use.
