A Rustic 18th Century Refectory Table

Description

A superb rustic 18th century refectory table of very heavy construction and entirely made from oak. The table has superb colour and patination, the top having lovely ware and fading in the patina. The top consists of four planks all having mortise and tenon pegged joints with cleated ends.

The base has a H- form stretcher joined into four chunky chamfered legs all with mortice and tenon joints. The top lifts off the base for easy mobility as the table is extremely heavy due to its construction.

Condition - some very slight bowing to the top, knocks, scrapes, ware commiserate with age. Overall condition - Excellent.

Thickness of the plank top 6cm.
