Arts & Crafts Silver Caddy Spoon By John Sidney Reeve 1935

A wonderful Arts & Crafts silver caddy spoon by John Sidney Reeve. The spoon is of beaten silver with a bowl of highly polished silver. On the rear of the bowl you can see the faint pattern of hammer marks indicating how the spoons has been crafted by hand. The handle is nicely shaped with a cut out design of leaves and berries: classic Arts and Crafts themes with true craftsmanship.
 
 
 
Good crisp hallmarks are shown for Birmingham 1935, with the makers mark and lion passant for sterling silver.
 
 
 
John Sidney Reeve was an original member of the Guild of Handicraft, a very celebrated community of craftsmen at the turn of the 19th century.
