Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Feraghan rugs originated in the Feraghan region of West Persia (Iran) during the nineteenth century. Produced primarily in rural workshops, these textiles gained significant international renown for their fine weaving techniques, structured patterns, and rich vegetable-dyed wools.

Traditional Feraghan carpets are hand-knotted using locally sourced wool pile spun onto a cotton warp and weft foundation. They feature asymmetrical (Persian) knots creating a dense, durable pile that showcases geometric and floral motifs with precise detail.

Authentic Feraghan rugs display natural vegetable dyes, slight hand-woven variations in symmetry, and a medium-to-fine knot density. Common pattern features include the Mahi or Herati all-over lattice, central step-edged medallions, and intricate floral turtle-patterned borders.

An antique Persian rug functions as a grounding element beneath minimalist or modern furniture. Placing the rug over neutral floorings, such as oak boards or polished concrete, highlights the contrast between traditional craftsmanship and clean contemporary architecture.

Vacuum the rug regularly without using a rotating beater brush to prevent fibre pull. Rotate the carpet annually to ensure even wear and light exposure, use a quality rug pad underneath, and arrange professional hand-washing by a specialist textile cleaner when needed.
