Description

Vienna style porcelain plate, by Hutschenreuter, c. 1900. Beautifully hand painted and signed by F. Becher, with a titled portrait ‘Psyche Rege’. The bare breasted Nymph, leaning against a pillar, observing a butterfly, whilst holding a sprig of flowers, in a garden setting.

Having an elaborately gilded and jewelled border, over a cobalt blue ground.

Signed – F. Becher.

Beehive mark in underglaze blue. Gilt title ‘Psyche Rege’. Impressed circular Hutschenreuter factory mark.

Diameter – 24.5 cm, 9 5/8”.

Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
