Early Victorian Walnut Games Table C1850

19th century
Description

A super quality early Victorian walnut games table c1860. The burr walnut round top is inset with a chequer board of figured walnut and more exotic wood such as coromandel. The tabletop is also inlaid with four ornate cartouches of different colour woods, corresponding to each side of the chequer board. The table stands on an impressive turned walnut pedestal which in turn stands on a carved cabriole leg base with central turned droplet. Very elegant, with a lovely mix of colours and good patina.
