The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The movement is signed with the name J.B. Yabsley, 72 Ludgate Hill, London, this would have been the original retailer of the watch. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51.6mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for London 1891, with a maker’s mark for the London case maker and silversmith Philip Woodman & Sons. The case is in good condition, light surface marks and some wear to the engine turned detail on the back.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.
The dial is signed J.B.Yabsley, London. The dial is in good condition with pin-set gold hands, sunken subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
