A Fine Etagere in the Louis XVIth Manner
Constructed in Honduras mahogany, with parquetry shelves, inset brass filleting; the three tiers supported by square section legs terminating in ring turned toupie feet with brass toes; the top tier having an arcaded gallery in cut brass. In the manner of Canabas.

Joseph Gegenbach, known as Canabas was received JME in 1766, and is regarded as the greatest designer and maker of furniture of small proportions in mahogany, and utilising brass counterpoint of the Louis XVIth period.
