Pair Of 19th Century French Burr Maple Bookcases/display Cabinets

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Lee Wright Antiques & Interiors Ltd

An Excellent and Unusual Pair of 19th Century French Burr Maple Bookcases or Display Cabinets with Contrasting Mahogany Mouldings Throughout.

These pieces feature a combination of fixed and adjustable interior shelves and full length doors that are both glazed. The full length doors conceal shelves throughout, meaning that items can be concealed in the lower portion of each piece and displayed on the upper shelves - perfect for the modern home office where a combination of storage and display space would be ideal.

The timbers used in these cabinets are of the highest quality and the unusual combination of mahogany mouldings against a mellowed, aged burr maple surface is extremely effective. Having very attractive proportions and interesting profiles.

Pairs of bookcases or cabinets of this sort are hard to come by.
