Edwardian Mappin Webb Silver Snuff Box Oval 1912

Description

A lovely snuff case by the reknowned silvermake Mappin and Webb of London. Made just before the end of Edwardian period in 1912 and the start of the Great war in 1914.

It comes in an unusual oval shape with an engraved border of two circles with a pattenr of dots around the very edges. The lid lifts off nicely and fits snuggly back on.

condition: The cbox is in good condition for its age. The are no dents or missing parts. There is wear and tear and pattina /scratches as you would expect. It can be cleaned up with a silver cleaner or left in its original state. Inside the top there is gold gilt. The lower case has no gilding and is dark black.
