Webberley Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
Sturdy and original, the rush seats in excellent order also.

These chairs have a very tactile feel – some sets just ‘sing’ and these have lovely proportions, sit down very squarely, have attractive shaping to front legs, splats and stretchers and whilst it is effectively two sets of chairs brought together, they are very similar indeed and have clearly been together for most of their long lives because the oak has developed a rich warm colour and patination and condition of both frames and rush seats is excellent throughout.
Dimensions are:
20 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 39 inches high.
Floor to seat is 18.5 inches.
For metric please multiply by 2.5
