Stunning Art Deco Silver & Guilloche Enamel Compact by Joseph Gloster, Birmingham 1922

Description

This beautiful silver mounted guilloche enamel compact is dated Birmingham 1940 and bears teh marks of Broadway & Co. Of circular form, the powder guilloche enamel with exquisite sunburst decorations within an engine-turned border. The hinged cover opening to reveal the original mirror.

The back with engine-turned decorations.

Hallmarks:

J.G LTD for Joseph Gloster Ltd.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "x" for 1922.

Dimensions:

7cm diameter / 2.6 inches.

Condition:

Good

Enamel in good condition. No losses or chips.

very minor surface wear commensurate with age and use.

Back in very good condition, no dents.

Snaps shuts nicely.
