A rare 17th. Century German Armada Chest with typical strap work and hand riveting. The carrying handles, key, clasps, dummy lock plate and secret sprung escutcheon all original. The interior having 5 sprung catches and retaining the original lid support. The later very well made iron stand presents the chest wonderfully and has casters for easy moving. Dimensions:- Max. Height inc Stand...31.5''/ 80cm. Max.Width inc Stand...38''/ 96.5cm. Max. Depth inc Stand...25''/ 63.5cm.
