Unusual Pair of 19thc Welsh Elm Cawl Bowls

Description

A very unusual handmade joined pair of 19thc cawl bowls. Welsh ,c1850 they measure 28cms long and 13cms h. No cracks or repairs and a super brown.patination .

The unusual thing about them is they have been joined together to form one .

Obviously done many years ago and for all we know from the start of their life as the colour is completely uniform.

We cant find examples either in pinto,s books or bebbs book of welsh furniture.

We feel they might have been used in baking or on the refrectory table.(salt and pepper?)

These will grace any cottage kitchen or table .

A wonderful piece of unique welsh treen and as always offered at our normal realistic price
