Cranberry glass is a red-tinted glass produced by fusing salts of gold into molten glass during the manufacturing process. Popular in Great Britain throughout the nineteenth century, it was frequently crafted into decorative domestic tableware, including dishes, jugs, and vases.

Craftsmen added gold chloride to batch glass to produce the characteristic deep pink to red hue. Items were hand-blown or blown into patterned moulds, often finished with applied clear glass handles, feet, or lid finials.
