Circa 1860. Rare Empire-style ormolu mounted mahogany piano stool. The circular over-stuffed top in a later velvet covering above a frieze with neo-classical ormolu mounts of atheneums and flower heads supported on three shaped supports with ormolu Corinthian capitals around a central turned support with ormolu base. Supported on an ormolu decorated triangular plinth over feet terminating in bold lion’s claw feet. Rare and quality item, in outstanding condition.
