A stunning exhibition quality Irish burr walnut and inlaid occasional table from the bespoke workshops of Robert Stahan & Sons of Henry street, Dublin. The circular top having boxwood inlay and shaped edge, above the triform base turned and fluted carving joined by a circular platform and decorative turned and carved finial. The whole raised on 3 out-swept and moulded legs with carved feet. Condition- Fine.The makers label part missing but a copy of the full label is in the photos. Dimensions:- Height…26.5’’/ 67.5cm. The furniture firm of Robert STRAHAN & Co was founded in Dublin in 1776 and by 1845 they had two workshops as well as their main commercial premises. Known for their high quality work, the firm exhibited at the Dublin Great Exhibition in 1862. They supplied furniture to many of the most well known Irish country houses including Doneraile Court, Lisnavagh, and Monte Alverno, many of which had their contents sold of during the 20th century.
