These charming black papier-mâché face screens depict Chinese figures. They have turned gilt wood handles. The screens have been decorated onto a black background with fine gilding work of flowers. The two male figures on one are playing instruments and dancing. On the other, there is a woman and a pedlar, and Chinese houses in the background.
Condition: Both face screens are restored. Repaired cracks and splits can be seen to the central sections.
