John Skeaping For Wedgwood - 1930s Ceramic Figure Of A Recumbent Deer

This distinctive ceramic sculpture was modelled by John Rattenbury Skeaping for Wedgewood in 1927. It is of a recumbent Duiker deer that is native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is in good original condition with no crackling to its celadon glaze. The artist''s name and maker''s mark ''SKEAPING WEDGWOOD'' are moulded into its plinth base.
