Art Deco Silver & Guilloche Enamel Compact by Crisford & Norris, Birmingham 1920

Description

This delightful silver and guilloche compact was made in Birmingham in 1920 by the renowned silversmiths Crisford & Norris. Of circular form, the front decorated with a stunning royal blue colour enamel cabochon. The hinged lid opening to reveal a mirror and gilt interior.

Attachment ring for a chain.

Hallmarks:

C&N for Crisford & Norris.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "v" for 1920.

Condition:

Good

Enamel in good conditIon.

A couple of minor surface scratches commensurate with age and use.

Strong hinge.

Good clear hallmarks.

Mirror in good condition.

Back with some dimples, commensurate with age

Diameter: 4.5cm / 1.6 inches
