Tinker & Toad has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Two feather filled cushions form the seat. The whole stands on an upholstered stretchered frame. This sofa is very similar to a settee we sold a few years ago which was by Morant & Co. of Bond Street, London and had come from the fine country house Cowdray Park in West Sussex. Morant joined forces with an interior designer called Lenygon and they traded from 91 Bond Street. In the 1930s they took over the famous Howard & Sons. This is a classic design with lovely lines. It's a very comfortable sofa and does have of wear to the fabric commensurate with age. We can reupholster the sofa for you at an additional cost of £800 plus your fabric. Seat height is 54cm.
