The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
A sprays of flowers sits in the bottom right corner and a triangular section in the top right has been carefully worked to create a pyramidal illusion. The reverse is smothered with small birds darting around a forest of bamboo stems. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1880, makers Deakin & Nephew (Charles Deakin & Stephen Deakin).
It measures 9.8cm (3 7/8") high by 6.7cm (2 5/8") wide and weighs 77g / 2.5ozt.
In excellent condition and free from any personalised engravings.
