A truly superb Victorian solid silver Christening set comprising knife, fork and spoon all in the most iconic Victorian design. The engraving to each piece of the set is outstanding (see images), featuring stunning fern pattern to both sides of the cutlery. The back of the spoon bowl is particularly impressive and the engraving throughout is wonderful and very crisp.
All of the pieces have a cartouch to the top of the terminals with a small initial ''C'' neatly engraved.
Very clear hallmarks are visible on each piece for the London Assay Office, dated 1877 along with the Lion Passant and silver maker''s mark: Chawner & Co (George William Adams).
A particularly outstanding child''s cutlery set, perfect for new baby, Christening or birthday gift!
