Taxidermy Mounted Horse Hoof

1900 - 1920
Description

A fine example of an Antique Horse's Hoof with a silver plated mount. The top is engraved "St Bent. 14 Steeplechases. By Bend Or - St Mary. 1911".

It is a good quality piece with a silver plated shoe below. This is stamped "Mounted by The A&N.C.S.Ld" for Army and Navy Cooperative Stores Ltd.

It is in very good condition for its age and displays very nicely. The hoof is a good large size with a nice patina and shine. The mount is in good condition with just some small dinks and some minor scratches on the top but nothing detrimental. There are some minor areas of tarnishing on the mount but it has been lightly cleaned and polished and displays well.

The best description comes from the photographs so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
