The name of the company comes from the Latin word "Duke", the title of Eichler's father-in-law.
At the beginning of its activity the company produced simple white tableware, but soon began to experiment with colour and decoration. In the 1870s Royal Dux began to produce figurines, and by the beginning of the XX century they became the main focus of the company.
