Regency Rosewood and Brass Inlaid Writing Box

19th century
Description

An attractive and good quality Regency period brass-inlaid rosewood WRITING BOX. The well figured rosewood case is beautifully inlaid with brass stringing, dots and scrolls with military style recessed handles to both sides.

It opens to reveal the original embossed velvet writing surface and a good pair of ink bottles. Inside there are three secret (hidden) drawers.

Retains its original working key.

Dated, c.1830-40

Dimensions: Width: 20 inches. Depth: 9.5 inches. Height: 6 inches (51 x 24 x 15 cms)
