Silver half hunter pocket watch, James Walker.

The watch has a Swiss 7-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is visible through the clear lens which has been fitted over the movement. The lens is signed ‘Stylic Protectic Case, Pats Pend’g’.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the outer covers for Chester 1936 together with a case maker’s mark for the Birmingham silversmiths, Smith, Ewen & Stylic Ltd.

The case is in lovely condition and the back of the watch has a 1936 inscription, presented by ‘Artisan Staff’.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, James Walker, together with the brand name Century. The dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
