The woman has a basket of fruit at her feet, likely intended as payment for the clerk's services. The group figurine is crafted in the finest traditions of the Dresden firm Ackermann & Fritze. The artisans demonstrated their traditional craftsmanship, which is evident in the details of the faces, clothing, and the basket of vegetables. A wonderfully chosen color palette enhances the figurine's charm.
Porzellanfabrik Ackermann & Fritze was established in Rudolstadt-Volkstedt in 1908 and produced premium elite porcelain. By 1949, it employed 30 individuals. It operated as VEB Kunst- und Zierporzellanwerke Rudolstadt-Volkstedt from 1951 to 1959.
The figurine measures 22.5 cm in height, 21 cm in width, 11 cm in depth, and weighs 1276 grams. The condition of the figurine is generally excellent, despite a couple of minor defects: the tip of the feather in the official's hand is broken off, and there is a crack on the remaining part of the feather. Additionally, the tips of two fingers on the official's left hand are missing. Apart from these, there are no visible defects.
The figurine bears a maker's stamp at its base. A note indicates that the figurine was purchased in 1911 by the father of its previous owner. Therefore, it's reasonable to deduce that the figurine was crafted between 1908 and 1911.
