The history of porcelain production in German Thuringia began in 1762. In that year, Georg Heinrich Maheleid appealed to the Prince of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. He was granted the exclusive privilege of building a porcelain factory. In 1767 it was leased to Christian Noon. In 1797, Prince Ernst Constantin von Hesse-Philippsthal acquired the manufactory. Two years later the factory was acquired by Wilhelm Greiner and Karl Holzapfel.
The Volkstedt factory is best known for its lace figurines, which began to be produced by the middle of the 19th century.
In 1832, the factory lost its exclusive right. Other porcelain manufacturers sprang up in Volkstedt and the surrounding region. The next changes of ownership were as follows: 1815-60 Greiner, Stauch & Co., 1861-75 Macheleid, Triebner & Co.
In 1899 the factory became a joint stock company. The name was changed to Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanfabrik AG. After World War II, the manufactory was transferred to VEB Zierporzellanwerke Lichte as VEB Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur. It is currently part of the Seltmann Weiden Group.

Impeccable condition , on close examination with a magnifying glass you can see only microscopic chips on two petals of one blue flower on the belt .Condition of a new thing.
The figurine has been examined under UV light-there are no visible signs of restoration or damage.
The figurine is in excellent condition.
It can be seen that the figurine was very carefully kept in someone's collection behind glass for a century and a half.
