Pair Of Antique English Georgian Brass Candlesticks ~ Edward Kendrick

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Applecross Antiques

A most attractive Pair of Late 18th Century Antique English Georgian Brass Candlesticks by Edward Kendrick of  London { 1781 - 1804 }, each marked on the underside of its base, and both retaining their internal wire push-ejectors, one with replacement button. Lovely colour and excellent condition. cf. Roderick Butler ~ ''A Study Collection of Marked Domestic Brass and other Base Metalware c.1600-c.1900'', published in 2001 where Kendrick''s products are discussed on pages 51 to 54, an identical candlestick being there illustrated in Figure 100. Very few antique brass candlesticks bear Maker''s marks, thus making this pair of documentary interest ~ Circa 1790.
